We are looking for an Experienced Project Manager to join Active’s Major Projects team getting involved in large scale construction projects delivering critical infrastructure across Australia.

What is the role?

This role will see you managing and maximising the day-to-day operations of our team whilst managing the large-scale vegetation clearance programs of our clients.  You will be required to investigate further business opportunities, while meeting current customer expectations, ensuring the maintenance of plant and equipment, and managing several teams in the field.  

These projects are complex, involve industrial scale machinery and as such the highest commitment to safety, delivery and environmental/quality standards must be adhered to.  You will be well supported by a strong, professional and experienced team.

You will be responsible for:

• Demonstrate strong and visible management skills through effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Manage projects to ensure they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Track project performance, financials, and productivity, and plan rectifications if needed.
• Ensure compliance with safe work practices, policies, and procedures across teams.
• Adhere to environmental and quality requirements.
• Conduct client and internal reporting.
• Formulate, review, and monitor work programs for each section of work to be completed.
• Provide effective communication, information flows, procedures, and records necessary to facilitate the delivery of contract and quality requirements.
• Engage in forward planning to meet contractual requirements and business targets.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to meet overall business objectives.
• Aim for continuous improvement in operational practices and resource utilisation.
• Mentor and coach Supervisors and other direct reports.

Do you have?

• A current drivers’ licence
• Previous experience within civil construction with vegetation management
• Industry experience and/or qualifications in Project Management

Great, but not essential:

• White card
• First aid/CPR
• MR/HR Truck Licence (highly regarded)
• 4x 4 experience (highly regarded)
