Active Tree Services is launching an exciting new business unit — and we’re looking for an experienced Traffic Control Manager to build and lead it from the ground up.

This is a rare opportunity for a high-performing Traffic Control Supervisor or Manager ready to step into a true business leadership role, with real autonomy, influence and the ability to shape a growing operation from day one.

About the Role

As the Traffic Control Manager, you’ll take ownership of the setup, growth and ongoing operations of this new business unit. This is a hands-on, “boots on the ground” leadership role where you’ll build the workforce, systems and processes that will drive long-term commercial success. You won’t just manage the business - you’ll build it. An experienced General Manager will provide executive support, enabling you to concentrate on building a high-performing business unit.

Key responsibilities include:

• Establish and lead a traffic control business unit from day one
• Oversee daily operations including scheduling, audits, run sheets, reporting and resourcing
• Recruit, lead and develop Traffic Controllers, Operators, Sign Installers and Apprentices
• Ensure WHS compliance and Traffic Management Plan (TMP) accreditation
• Develop, review and maintain TMPs and internal compliance systems
• Support client acquisition and build strong, long-term customer relationships
• Provide input into fleet setup and ongoing coordination
• Collaborate closely with fleet, operational and senior leadership teams

About You

You’re an experienced traffic control professional already operating at Supervisor or Manager level, ready to take the next step into a standalone leadership role.

You’ll bring strong industry knowledge, leadership capability and the confidence to build systems, teams and processes from scratch.

You will ideally bring:

• Proven experience in the traffic control industry
• Previous leadership experience (Supervisor or Manager)
• Strong working knowledge of WHS and TMP compliance
• Confidence managing people, operations and clients
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong organisational skills
• A current driver’s licence
