Active Tree Services is Australia’s largest provider of arboriculture and vegetation management. We’re expanding our SA Commercial crew to support work across Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills and nearby regional areas, and we’re looking for reliable, hands‑on people who want more than just a job - they want a career.

SA Commercial is a small but mighty part of Active, with a tight‑knit team of experienced arborists, operators, labourers and apprentices. What sets us apart is our modern fleet and smart approach to work, including large chip trucks, 21‑inch chippers, 2‑ and 5‑tonne excavators, and one of only a handful of Magni telehandlers in Australia, fitted with a Westec cutting head.

This equipment allows branches to be cut and held at heights of up to 31 metres, dramatically increasing efficiency and safety on complex tree removals. As a result, SA Commercial is trusted to deliver some of the most challenging works for councils, civil contractors and SA Power Networks across South Australia.

What is the role?

The key responsibility of this role is to safely and efficiently carry out tree trimming and removal works using correct climbing techniques and safe work practices.

No two weeks are the same. One week you might be climbing large eucalyptus trees in the Adelaide Hills, the next assisting with Magni works, and the next completing maintenance pruning throughout metropolitan Adelaide.

You will rotate between duties such as:

• Performing safe and competent climbing techniques
• Clearing vegetation around or near powerlines
• Conducting daily risk assessments
• Establishing and maintaining vegetation drop zones
• Operating Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs)
• Safely operating and maintaining chainsaws and other plant
• Clearing and maintaining worksites through chipping and clean‑up

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for motivated, adaptable team players who can think on their feet and take pride in their work. Whether you are:

• An entry‑level candidate looking to start a career in arboriculture
• An experienced arborist ready to step up and challenge yourself
• An international arborist (with visa assistance available)

SA Commercial has opportunities to suit different experience levels. *Experience is preferred but not essential — full training will be provided for the right person.
